DRIVING DIGITAL DIVERSITY

BAE Systems’ 2024 survey “Driving Digital Diversity” provided an understanding of the perceived barriers to a career in tech.

With a nationally representative survey of over 2000 respondents, as well as specific quotas for technology professionals and cybersecurity specialists, this report was designed to uncover the importance of diversity in the tech industry, the perceived barriers to a career in tech, the importance of education, and the main challenges facing minorities.

Respondents with a diverse range of characteristics were recruited. They included people of varied age ranges, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnic groups, genders, and from neurodivergent communities, to provide the best insight into how the barriers to a career in IT differ for members of minority groups.

Ripple Research was instrumental in designing the questions, running the research, and telling the story behind the data.

This piece of research was a great first step in changes to the recruitment and training processes in BAE Systems to encourage more representative workforces.
